History
Founded in 1951 by Metin Afacan under the name Afacan Gümrükleme, the company was incorporated in 1993 as Afacan Gümrük Müşavirliği Ltd. and took its present name, Afacan Lojistik ve Gümrük Müşavirliği A.Ş., in 2020.
Our firm has practiced customs brokerage for 75 years and has served in Turkey's free zones for more than 33 of them.

Metin Afacan
Founder (1951)The late Metin Afacan, founder of the company, entered the profession in 1951 and, holding a Grade A licence, was for many years among the most knowledgeable and experienced figures in the sector. In 2005 he received the award given to customs brokers with more than 50 years of service.
Cavit Afacan
Partner · General ManagerA graduate of the Austrian High School and İTÜ Mathematical Engineering (Computer Science), he joined the company in 1984 while completing his master's degree in Business Administration. He holds a Grade A licence and speaks German and English.
Yılmaz Yıldız
Honorary ManagerHe began his career at this firm in 1981 and has been part of it ever since. He holds a Grade B licence.
Mahmut Ağlık
Company ManagerWith the company since 1997, he currently serves as Company Manager.

Our long history shows in our culture. Since our founding, taking regulation seriously, working as a team, advising our partners rather than merely clearing their goods, and practising the work as a craft — treating it as our own — have been central to who we are.

We value specialisation: we work solely in customs brokerage and its immediate branches, such as obtaining specific permits and chemist services. In transport, bonded warehousing and insurance we advise, but do not operate ourselves.
On financial matters we follow the legislation closely and, with the support of our sworn financial advisor, assist our business partners.
Technology & Infrastructure
Since its founding, Afacan has followed new technologies closely, completing the infrastructure needed to carry out customs operations electronically and at speed across all its branches. Declarations are registered and assessed online through a single centre connected to the customs automation system.
With cloud technology, our partners' documents are kept electronically and made available to them, limited to their own transactions. You can track the status of your operations online.
The ERP system installed in 2016 lets us deliver any report in any format our partners require, while increasing the speed of our customs operations and minimising the possibility of error.

The company holds ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management and ISO 27001:2022 Information Security Management certifications.
In the clearance services we provide under Customs Law No. 4458 and related legislation, our primary goals are the highest level of client satisfaction, adherence to professional ethics, and continuous improvement of service quality in line with ISO 9001:2015.
Our Information Security Management System safeguards the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the people, infrastructure, software, hardware, client information and third-party data involved in customs and foreign trade operations.
